Effective date: 17 August 2026
The Tire Valet (1576483 B.C. LTD., doing business as The Tire Valet) provides mobile tire service across the North Shore of Vancouver. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
We handle personal information in accordance with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
What we collect
Information you give us — when you book a job, request a quote, or contact us:
- Your name, phone number and email address
- The service address where you’d like us to meet you
- Vehicle and tire details — make, model, year, tire size, wheel and TPMS information, tread depth, and where your off-season tires are stored
- Appointment times and any notes you give us about the job
- Payment details (see Payments below)
Information collected automatically when you visit thetirevalet.ca — your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and how you arrived at our site. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies.
Why we collect it
- To schedule, perform and follow up on the work you’ve asked us to do
- To reach you about your appointment — confirmations, reminders, and letting you know when we’re on the way
- To quote and source tires, and to order parts on your behalf
- To keep a service history for your vehicle, so we know what we fitted and when — this is what lets us give you accurate advice on your next visit
- To invoice you and keep the financial records the law requires us to keep
- To understand how our website is used, and to measure our advertising
We collect only what we need for these purposes. We do not sell your personal information, and we never have.
Consent
By booking a service or sending us your details, you consent to us using your information for the purposes above. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us — though if you do, we may no longer be able to provide the service.
We will only send you marketing messages if you’ve agreed to receive them, and every such message will include a way to unsubscribe. Messages about a booking you’ve actually made — confirmations, reminders, arrival notices — are service messages, not marketing.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the business, and only what they need to do their job:
- Zoho (CRM and Books) — customer records, vehicle history and invoicing. Our Zoho data is hosted in Zoho’s Canadian data centre.
- Jotform — our online booking and quote forms.
- Clover and Stripe — card payment processing.
- Google (Analytics, Tag Manager and Ads) and Meta (Facebook Pixel) — website analytics and advertising measurement.
- Hostinger — website hosting.
- Our tire suppliers — where we need to order a specific tire for your vehicle. They receive the order details, not your full customer record.
Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is held in another country it may be accessible to the courts and law enforcement of that country under their laws.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
Payments
We accept e-transfer, debit, cash and credit card. We do not store your full card number. Card payments are handled directly by our payment processors, who are responsible for the security of that data. For e-transfers we see the sender’s name, email address and the amount.
Cookies and tracking
Our website uses cookies to keep the site working, to understand how visitors use it, and to measure our advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work properly if you do.
You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser opt-out add-on, and adjust personalised advertising in your Google Ad Settings and your Facebook ad preferences.
How long we keep it
We keep customer and vehicle records for as long as you remain a customer and for a reasonable period afterwards, so that your service history is available if you come back to us. Invoices and other financial records are kept for six years, as required by the Canada Revenue Agency. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or render it anonymous.
How we protect it
We use reputable providers, keep accounts protected by strong passwords and multi-factor authentication where available, and limit access to the small number of people who run the business. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take reasonable steps appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.
Your rights
Under BC’s Personal Information Protection Act you may:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and how it has been used
- Ask us to correct anything that’s wrong
- Withdraw your consent to our use of it
- Ask us to delete it, where we’re not required to keep it
Contact us and we’ll respond within 30 days. There’s no charge for a routine request.
Children
Our services are directed at vehicle owners. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
