Here’s a fun behind-the-scenes detail about how tire shops actually operate. Most shops — yes, even the big ones — order your tires from a distributor after you walk in. They don’t have a warehouse of every size in the back. The distributors deliver three times a day: a morning run before 11 AM, a midday run before 2 PM, and a final run before 5 PM.
Now, most shops close at 5 or 6 PM. So if your tires arrive on that 5 PM delivery, there’s a real chance they’re not getting installed until tomorrow. You’ve wasted a trip, and now you have to come back.
We look at that 5 PM delivery differently. That’s not the end of our day — that’s the start of our evening shift. Those tires arrive, we load up, and we’re at your door by 6:30 or 7 PM. You’re eating dinner or catching up on TV while we work in the driveway. By the time you’re done with dishes, you’ve got fresh tires and you didn’t miss a second of work.
